Fosberry

It’s amazing the coincidences you come across when you research your family history. In 1971 my wife and I married in St. Andrews Church, Medstead, Hampshire (photo below) - we still live in the village. On 25th October 1803 Michael Fosberry married Hannah Trimmer in the same church. Michael is my wife’s great, great, great, great grandfather!

In the intervening years the Fosberry’s had moved around various villages in north Hampshire. Michael’s great  granddaughter Lucy Fosberry married Alfred William Paice, they’re daughter Gertrude Ivy Paice married Marion’s grandfather Alfred Charles Nelson and they lived in Kingston, Surrey. His son Charles moved to Medstead in about 1964. As far as I can find the family had no connection with Medstead between the marriage of Michael and Hannah in 1803 and the arrival of the Nelson family in 1964.
